The Village Cafe and Bakery was established in December 2013 and has grown ever since, at first just specalising in hot meals, freshly made cakes and bread from Wrens Bakery in Newport under the ownership of Lynne Bevan from Griffistown who then sold the buisness to myself Andrew Preece on the 19 January 2015. Since then we have developed the buisness to provide celabration cakes and a meals on Wheels Service to the local community.

The Village cafe and bakery is located in the center of Griffistown (NP4 5HY) and we deliver from Varteg down to Cwmbran
Andrew has been working in the catering industry for over 20 years working in my early years I helped my Dad Noel on His fast food van (Noels Fast Foods) on the Crumlin Road serving door step sandwiches and such like on His Van.
I went to College at Pontypool and Then Crosskeys and Studied Food Prep and Cooking upto and including level 3 where I worked closely inside and out with my Lecturer Johnny Mac. During my College training and after I worked with The MOD as a sub contractor feeding in the Officers mess and other messes. prior to geting married to Crystal I moved job to Llanarth Court Hospital where I later became assistant head chef. unfortunaly during the time I got diagnosed with Bi-pola but after over coming this I returned to work with The Salvation Army in Newport as assistant community manger and chef and run their community cafe for 9 1/2 years before taking on The Village on the 19 January 2015.
Sian Has been Working in the Cake production and decoration industry for well over 30 years and produces top quality cakes for all occasions if you need a cake get the A Team!!!! or Sian in this case
Sian has been In Griffithstown for many years and moved in with The Village on opening in December 2013

Carla has been with The Village from the start back in December 2013, but has worked in Griffithstown for many years and is well known in the community, people remember Carla for her luscious Lasagne to her adorable corned beef pie. Carla can be found most days serving in the cafe (except Thursdays and Saturdays)
Chloe was doing her NVQ L1 in food prep and cooking with us which she has now completed, she has already completed, 2 NVQ L1 in Newport Salvation Army with Andrew in customer service and office admin. Chlow has now moved on to the Jobs Growth Wales program and has a six month fixed term contract which we hope will become permanant in the summer if we continue to develope the buisness she works mainly in customer service and assists the kitchen staff with day to day tasks
The Delivery Guy... Richard came to us from the job centre on work experience and now works part time delivering our meals on wheels service
My wife sometimes jokes she only works here so she can see her husband but that is not the case...lol Crystal can often be found doing all the admin stuff or as i like to call it the boring stuff that goes with any buisness.. we keep her in the cupboard in the corner
